Roberto M. Barro, P.E.

Principal

Mr. Barro has more than 25 years of multidisciplinary experience in electrical engineering, process control engineering and systems integration.  He is a control systems specialist with extensive experience in system modeling and closed loop simulation.  Mr. Barro is also a specialist in the application of VFD’s for motor control with major research experience in the electrical and control system design of vector controllers for three phase induction machines.

His electrical and controls industrial design experience stems from his roots as a spacecraft control systems engineer for a major defense contractor.  This includes defining functional scopes for process sequencing, open loop controls, closed loop controls and integration utilizing microprocessors, programmable logic controllers, distributed control systems and data acquisition computers.

His experience includes the development of diagrams for instrumentation and control systems, low voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution systems, control systems, and networked communication of various system protocols.  He also performs project management, providing construction support and supervision, electrical engineering, process commissioning and start-up support.  Mr. Barro has integrated supervisory control and data acquisition systems utilizing Intouch, RSView32, FTView, Kepware, Allen-Bradley programmable logic controllers, Allen-Bradley programmable automation controllers, and Foxboro IA distributed control systems.

Mr. Barro serves as the chief controls systems engineer and master programmer managing all large scope integration projects of the firm.
