Jason Tam, P.E.
Electrical Engineer
Mr. Tam has more than 9 years of multidisciplinary experience in electrical engineering, process control engineering, and systems integration for industrial plants including food-processing, mining and aggregate, metal recovery, and pipeline facilities.
His experience includes design for instrumentation and control systems, low voltage electrical distribution systems, network communications, and plant-wide computer systems. His controls experience includes state machines, process sequencing, open loop controls, closed loop controls, digital signal processing, system modeling and simulation, and signal analysis. He has integrated supervisory control and data acquisitions systems utilizing Ignition, FactoryTalk View, Wonderware Intouch, Kepware, and Allen-Bradley programmable logic controllers. Programing experience includes working with VBA, ladder logic, structured text, and function blocks. He also performs equipment checkout, VFD programming, process commissioning, start-up support, and troubleshooting.
He has developed custom, automated tool-chains for rapid in-house development for control system diagrams, programmable logic controllers, and also developed custom electrical and process engineering calculation tools for projects. He has experience with developing Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) infrastructure, reporting, and alarming – ranging from data acquisition to daily reporting of process data using SQL.
